Well the people have gone, the tents are down and all is back to normal here at Jacquots Rock Ranch. It is sad that it had to come to an end. We had a great turnout this year for the Second Annual Western North Carolina Rockhound Roundup. Over sixty people from all over the country came to be part of this growing event that is sponsored by our M.A.G.M.A. club and Dirtyrockhounds.
The event actually started this past Wednesday. The campers began rolling in that afternoon to be ready for the trip to the Little Pine Mine on Thursday. About 1:00 I saw a truck and trailer rolling down the drive, it was Phil and Cathy Napier, our M.A.G.M.A. members from Kansas City Missouri. They have been in the club over a year and I finally got to meet them.

Phil had not even parked his camper yet when Geodepat from Florida was coming down the drive. Throughout the afternoon more and more people began to arrive.

Ron Denton, M.A.G.M.A. member and President of the East Alabama Gem and Mineral Club.
Charles Griffin from Fuquay Varina, ready for a week of camping.
Ed Wagner arrived Wednesday afternoon to get his sale and swap table set up. Here he is with Richard Danner, Bill Danner, Mona Danner and Ed. Bill and Mona are new M.A.G.M.A. members from California, Richard is a new member from NC.
Harold and Loretta arrived and set up camp.
By that evening we had quite a crowd setting up camp for the week.
