Graves Mountain

February 30th and March 1st, 2008We had a great turnout for the Graves trip. At least forty members were present to collect some nice specimens. Ron Seaver found the first nice piece of iridescent.
Several of us spent a few hours moving some large rocks to access a nice vein of iridescent. Iridescent hematite is probably the most common mineral found at the mine, so most people like to hunt it because of the easy pickings. Every now and then the color and shapes get a little better.
