Here are a
few of the specimens we collected on the bottom:
Box turtle
shell fragment, pleistocene epoch.
| Very
cool set of fused vertebrae. It is unusual to find the verts together,
especially in the river. I have not identified these yet. |
Same
as above.
Fossil
coprolite, possibly alligator? You will notice that some of these
specimens look wet, they are not. I found a location in the river
that was covered in sand, the sand was blowing off the fossils. I
think the sand must have had a polishing effect on the fossils from
that location. All the pieces I collected from this site look polished
when dried. |
Whale
inner ear.
